Download and Install LineageOS 14.1 for OnePlus One

There is no denying the fact that the OnePlus One is a legendary device. It has been over three years since the device has been released but the development for the device has not yet stopped and it’s still very much healthy! Yesterday, the XDA Recognized Developer Sultanxda has released the much awaited Lineage OS 14.1 based on Android 7.1.1 for the OnePlus One. Please note that this is an unofficial version focused mainly on stability and overall user experience. This ROM also comes with a highly-customized kernel, as well as some other very custom modifications.

Features of Lineage OS 14.1 for OnePlus One

Below are a few features of the ROM:

  • Based on the latest Lineage OS 14.1 sources. (and hence no root access out of the box).
  • Built-in OTA Updates.
  • Oxygen OS Camera Libraries.
  • Custom camera app that comes with many unique features (such as high-speed video recording with audio).

  • 1440p video recording with the front-facing camera and back camera

Install Lineage OS 14.1 on OnePlus One

For Fresh Install:

Please note that the below installation instructions are only for those installing this ROM for the first time. If you are just updating to a new version, the installation instructions are in the next section.

[Make A Complete Backup”]Before proceeding, make sure to take a complete backup of your device.
  1. Copy above downloaded ROM file and GAPPS file to the internal storage of your device.
  2. Reboot your device into TWRP Recovery:
    • Power Down your OnePlus One.
    • After the phone is completely switched off – Press and Hold the Power Button and Volume Down Buttons at the Same Time.
    • Continue Holding these two buttons past the OnePlus/Android Splash Screen that appears.
    • When the phone boots into Recovery Mode, release the power and volume down buttons.
  3. Completely wipe System/Data/Cache/Dalvik. To do this, select Wipe > Advanced Wipe and then select the above-mentioned things and select ‘Swipe to wipe‘.
  4. Go back to the TWRP home screen, tap on ‘Install’ from the available options. You will be asked to choose a file to flash/install. Browse and select the downloaded file and then ‘Swipe to install.’
  5. After the ROM installation completes, go to TWRP main screen and select ‘Install’ again and flash the downloaded GAPPS package.
  6. Once the installation is complete, reboot your device.
[In case of oppo.verify_trustzone error”]
  • If this happens, then first you must install/use TWRP recovery 3.0.2-0. Next, download and flash the latest official CM13.0 snapshot.
  • Then, without rebooting from recovery, wipe /system and flash my ROM.
  • This process is necessary to update various firmwares (including TrustZone), as the updated firmware is needed by this ROM.
  • After flashing this ROM, flash a Google Apps package, and then reboot.

For updating to a new version:

If you are already running this ROM, then you can update to a newer version of the ROM via the built-in OTA updater or by simply dirty-flashing the new ROM build without wiping anything. But, Do NOT reinstall the GAPPS.

Miscellaneous Tweaks

In this ROM, the CPU is underclocked as the developer thinks it is better for the device’s performance. But, if you want to restore to the actual clock speed, you can simply flash the below zip file in TWRP recovery:
