How to Install Android P Beta in Nokia 7 Plus and Essential Phone

One of the greatest announcements in this year’s Google I/O is that Android P Beta is now available for non-Google devices as well. In this guide, we will tell you how you can install Android P Beta in Nokia 7 Plus and Essential Phone.

A couple of days back, Google announced the release of Android P Beta at the Google IO 2018 summit. The most amazing thing about the beta program is that one doesn’t need to own a Pixel device in order to grab a bite from the Beta program. In first of its kind, Google announced that third-party Android phone makers like Essential and Nokia are a part of the Android P Beta Project. According to Google, a lot of credit goes to Project Treble for making non-pixel devices eligible for the beta program.

Going by Android’s Official Website, the Nokia 7 Plus is the only Nokia branded phone to be eligible for the Android P Beta Project but I expect that Google and HMD may allow Nokia 8 Sirrocco and Nokia 8 to join the bandwagon in near future.

Both the Nokia 7 Plus and the Essential Phone run on a stock build of Android 8.1 Oreo. Unlike the Pixel phones, these won’t receive OTA updates for Android P Beta. The only way to get Android P Beta is to flash it manually.

If you happen to own any of these devices and want to test Android P Beta on your device, here is our guide to get Android P Beta on Nokia 7 Plus and Essential Phone.
