Tips To Improve FPS/Speed In PUBG Mobile For A Smooth Experience

PUBG Mobile first appeared on the Google Play store in March this year and since then has taken the mobile gaming world by storm with over 20 million daily active players worldwide on the mobile platform. Till now, it has been downloaded over 50 million times on Android itself and is on the 1st place in the Top Grossing list of Google Play Store. Going by the official statement of Tencent, any phone running Android 5.1.1 or above and having at least 2 GB of RAM can run PUBG. This statement seems generous as most of the phones today run at least Android 7.1 or above and has at least 4 GB of RAM. The real fact is you cannot have smooth gameplay experience with high frame rates until your device is powered by an upper midrange CPU and GPU. This is the major reason behind the laggy experience which many tend to experience while playing PUBG Mobile.

PUBG Mobile is one of the most graphics intensive games available on the Google Play Store and if you are someone who is not able to get Chicken Dinner because of laggy gameplay, here is a tutorial for getting the most out of your phone and play PUBG Mobile at higher frame rates.

Tips To Improve FPS in PUBG Mobile

  1. Download and install GFX Tool by tsoml from the Google Play Store.
  2. Once installed, run the app and grant all the required permissions.
  3. Select the version of PUBG Mobile installed on your phone. PUBG Mobile 0.8.0 is the latest version while writing this article.
  4. Then tweak the other settings according to your device and find what suits you best. For starters, here is a guide on how to tweak each individual setting.

Resolution:

Playing PUBG at a lower resolution improves gameplay drastically but keep in mind that playing it at a much lesser resolution may ruin your visual experience. Hence, I will recommend you not to go below 1280×720.

Graphics:

Like Resolution, playing PUBG at lower graphics improves gameplay.

FPS:

The more the FPS count, the better the gameplay. For decent gameplay, one requires the FPS count to range between 30 fps to 40 fps.

Anti-aliasing:

This setting helps to improve the overall graphics of the game. But do note that improved graphics comes at the cost of lower frame rates. I would not recommend you to turn this on.

Style:

There is not much to do with this setting as this has no effect on the gameplay.

Shadows:

Disabling shadows will help you fetch better frame rates but may ruin other aspects of the game.

Graphics API:

If your device is running on Android 7.0 or above, select Vulkan Graphics API. In case your device does not run on Android 7.0 or above, choose between OpenGL 2.0 and Open GL3.1 and select what is better for you.

Once done with tweaking the settings, hit the Accept button below and tap on launch to run PUBG mobile game. Inside PUBG, run it on higher settings and enjoy the improved gameplay. If still facing lag, tweak the settings to your liking.
