Disable Gestures On Your Pixel 3/3XL And Get The Vertical Recent Apps Menu (No Root)

One of the latest additions to the Android Operating System is the gesture navigation system which replaces the three-button navigation system. While some like it, some say it is a step in the right direction and requires refinement while a group still favours the traditional way of navigating the Android user interface with the help of buttons. Everything was going fine until Google decided to push the gesture-based navigation system under the throats of the Pixel 3/3 XL users. Although the new gesture system was an optional change in the beta builds, it seems like there is no way of reverting back to the traditional navigation method in the stable build of Android Pie. This was recently confirmed by Google in a tweet.

This can be a deal breaker for some who still prefer the traditional three-button navigation system. If you are someone who falls under this category, do not worry, we have a guide to help you out of this situation. But in this a materialistic world, it is a hard truth that everything comes at a cost and in this case, you have to give up the latest version of the Pixel Launcher based on Android 9 to disable the gesture based navigation system. This also means that the new horizontally placed recent apps card will be replaced by the more conventional vertically stacked recent apps menu.
