Google translate is one of the best features and has continuously seen improvements. The translation using the smartphone camera was good on paper but in actual sense, it was with quite a lot of bug. It gets the job done but it is a hit and miss kind of a concept. Probably, one of the most important reasons for drawback is that whenever you use your smartphone camera to translate, you need to select the languages before initiating the translation. Automatic detection seemed to be missing.
But, according to a recent report by 9to5Google, During the recently concluded Google I/O Event, Google hinted that the Google Translate was getting a bigger update in the near future. 9to5Google also reports that Google Lens is getting revamped and more features like the split checks, the translation will be added to it.
Several strings in Google Translate reveal that there will be more language support and improved accuracy. However, the key functionality that is going to come to Google Translate is “Automatic Language Detection”. The new Translate Camera works instantly whenever you aim at a text. Those these features have not been enabled yet but the features are there in the strings.
Moreover, Google is also working on an instant AR camera feature. This will allow the camera to translate the texts immediately and show them as if they were written in the target language. But, this looks like a future project as previously also Google has made some promises which it was unable to fulfill. Stay tuned with ThemeFoxx for more tech news.
