Android 9 Pie has been the talk of the talk for Android Smartphones. It is being constantly updated with new features. Apple has also come to the scene as the smartphone world is less than a month away from diverting its attention to iOS 13. But, we already know a lot about the features and enhancements iOS 13 is about to bring to iPhones. Additionally, predicting the list of supported iPhones and iPads was very easy as Apple removed one generation from the update cycle supported device.
But, iOS 12 brought in a lot of changes and it supported many older devices like the iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini 2. The iOS11 also supported all the Apple devices of its previous year. This sparked a strong possibility that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus would be receiving their 5th major software update this year. But, according to a rumor by French Blog iPhoneSoft, some unnamed sources claimed that this year it will not be the case. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus might not be getting the latest iOS 13 this year. Putting an end to its update cycle.
But you never know what surprise Apple has in its bag for its old series of iPhones. iOS 13 is a big deal as it will bring in a lot of improvements in terms of device and other modules. Moreover, iOS12 was primarily focused on improving performance and some small tweaks making it easier to be adopted on older version iPhones. However, with iOS 13, Apple is reportedly bringing in a lot of aesthetics changes and system-wide Dark Mode. A revamped version of the Health app, Maps, and iMessage app might be too extreme to fit with the older version iPhones.
Point to note is that, the rumor by the blog is about a month old and till now no confirmation has been made by Apple. so, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users must not lose hope until something concrete is announced.
