The company has elaborated more about the same in an official statement stating that
Mi Express Kiosks serve as a highly effective new retail initiative for consumers and Mi Fans to easily access and buy Xiaomi products instantly in offline markets,” the company elaborated in its statement to the press.
This is going to be Xiaomi’s third attempt to penetrate the offline market in India. Xiaomi has already launched the Mi Home Stores in May 2017, and later Mi Stores were launched across India later in the year. Besides, they inaugurated 500 stores in a single day. The Mi Express Kiosks are especially cost-effective. They do not require salesperson or staff to be present and customers can operate the machine by themselves.
