Astrophotography Mode is now available for Google Pixel 1 and Google Pixel 2, thanks to the Google Pixel 4 Camera Mod. With the latest Google Camera APK, you can shoot the night sky in Astrophotography on your Google Pixel 1 and Pixel 2.
Google unveiled the Pixel 4 series a few weeks ago and they have received lukewarm reception among the tech reviewers and the users alike. One of the most talked-about camera features of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL is Astrophotography mode. Astrophotography Mode enables the user to take high-quality pictures of the night sky. It can take sharper and brighter pictures of the night sky which even shows the stars in a very detailed manner, hence the name ‘Astrophotography’. It is designed to take pictures of the stars and the sky at night times.
Enable Google Pixel 1 and Pixel 2 Astrophotography Mode
Just like all the earlier versions of the Google camera that came our previously, most of the features of the Camera are on the software side. Astrophotography Mode is a feature available on Google Camera App v7.2, which can be found on the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. Not-so-surprisingly, Google Camera 7.2 is only available for flagship Google phones, so you cannot officially install it on other phones out of the box.
Fortunately, developers from the Android community have already ported the APK file of Google Camera 7.2. Thanks to developers such as cstark27, parrot043, Urnyx05 and the_dise, users can install Google Camera 7.2 APK port on most Android devices right now. In this particular guide, we are going to make use of the Google Camera Port APK by the developer cstark27.

Why Isn’t Google Camera Astrophotography Mode Turning On?
The Astrophotography mode only works when your device is not moving. It usually takes 2 to 4 minutes to take a photo in the Astro Mode on the Google Camera app. During this time, the phone should not be moved even the slightest.
Below are two reasons why Astro Mode pop-up is not showing up for you:
- Your device is constantly moving. Place it in a tripod for Astro Mode photos.
- There is light pollution in the place where you are trying to take Astro Mode photos. Astro mode works well when the surrounding is dark.
This is the easiest way to enable Astrophotography Mode on Google Pixel 1 and Google Pixel 2.
