OxygenOS is currently my most favorite OEM skin. The OnePlus One came with CyanogenMod and we all know how that ended up for both OnePlus and Cyanogen. OxygenOS is the official OEM firmware offered by OnePlus since OnePlus 2. It was originally built by the talented team behind the famous custom ROM Paranoid Android. OxygenOS is very lightweight and is close to stock Android with only a handful of useful features baked right into it.
OnePlus is one of the very, very few manufacturers who constantly listen to its users. They have a great rapport with their users and the community. They constantly send out devices to custom ROM/Kernel and app developers in order to bring all the latest mods to their devices, which is absolutely great. OnePlus also constantly takes feedback from its community and improves the OxygenOS experience for its users.
When more and more features are constantly added to the software, bugs are bound to be there. An operating system is nothing but a giant price of software code and when you add more features, you add more code it which might result in bugs. Not so long ago, there was some ruffle in one of the OnePlus community forum thread stating the OnePlus 7 Pro notifications are very delayed.
If you have been experiencing the same issues, in this article, we will tell you how you can fix OnePlus 7 & 7 Pro delayed notification bug.
How to Fix the OxygenOS Delayed Notification Bug on the OnePlus 7 Pro / OnePlus 7

- Next, click on the Wi-Fi heartbeat interval option and in the popup that comes next, select the 1 Minute option.
- Next, click on Apply settings option. The changes will be applied and you will be shown a confirmation as below.
What was the causing this OnePlus 7 delayed notification issue?
Well, we are not completely sure about that part. But when you tried looking more into this issue, one thing became very clear – this issue not only occurring in OnePlus phones. In fact, this has been around in even older versions of Android. That explains the existence of apps such as the one we used in the guide above. As a matter of fact, there are many such apps available in the Google Play Store and that explains a lot about this issue.
We are not very sure how this ‘Heartbeat network’ thing works on Android but something is very clear – setting it to a very low interval seems to fix the problem. But a heartbeat interval of 1 minute is not recommended unless absolutely needed. We recommend keeping an eye on the battery life of your OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro and maybe increase the interval a little bit if the battery life is taking a huge hit.
