You might have a clearer idea after today, though. Yonhap News claims Samsung will tuck the protective display layer into the body, preventing users from peeling it off under the mistaken belief that it’s an everyday screen protector. It will also block the gaps at the top and bottom of the hinge to prevent debris from wrecking the foldable display.

The super-premium $2000 Galaxy Fold took almost a decade to bring to its glory. But when the review units were sent to tech reviewers, the immediately reported issues. Some had screen flickering issue and some face display distortion. But the company’s spokesperson defended the issues claiming that the devices will be “thoroughly inspected”.

The company solved the screen protector peeling issue by tucking the ends of the protective film inside the body of the phone under the frame of the device. This solution is paired with a huge warning in the box saying that “the film is not meant to be removed and doing so will result in the death of your newly purchased $1,980 phone”. This would definitely convince people not to attempt to take off the protective film.

As for the hinge situation goes, The company reduced the gap between the top and bottom part to stop any foreign particles from entering the device. According to GSMArena, the review units are being tested and the release date will be announced soon.
